who I am.

So you’ve discovered the “about” page, huh?

What’s there to say that can be summed up in a nice, tidy manner? Nothing – not if it has to be tidy.

little me – and a found-poem written by much older me

I grew up in London, Ontario in the area east of Hamilton Rd. (an infamous area to most Londoners). Halfway through high school, my Mom, brother, and I moved across the city to the South end of town – near White Oaks and Victoria Hospital (which would be renamed the London Health Sciences Centre). My childhood and adolescence were idyllic, in the sense that I couldn’t ask for better parents to have been raised by. Despite the many antics my friends and I often got up to over the years, I never found myself in any grave danger or situations I look back on with a sordid measure of regret. I was safe and I was happy (even when I thought I wasn’t happy).

a mixtape i’ll never release; an image that remains cursed forever

I’ve had a good life. And now that I’m old enough to recognize how privileged I am to have had my upbringing and continue to lead my life as a young adult, I have turned my attention to the world around me.

In June 2019, I graduated with my Honours Bachelor degree in English Literature at Lakehead University in Thunder Bay.

Five years and one piece of paper later. Badda bing.
The famjam and I (my Mom may have been feeling the moment pretty hard).

Now, I’m a post-graduate professional living and working among all of you.

What does the future hold? More learning, growing, and loving than you or I know what to do with… wait, what are you doing? No, no put that down – stop, it’s not meant to be used like that – no, wait, you can’t! *unloads website*

Seriously though, welcome to the jungle – the daisies and weeds of my mind, from vague nuggets of truth to mystifyingly obvious revelations that will leave you thinking, was this guy born yesterday?

Or, maybe you can relate and you get where I’m coming from.

I won’t be offended either way.

In the meantime, I’ll be writing here on my blog fairly regularly – publishing poetry, short stories, excerpts from my creative projects and supporting fellow creator’s by featuring their work as well!

I’m just a writer looking to continue writing and financially support himself doing it.

Here’s to the road ahead.
